Can you trust your gut?

In most cases, I would tell people to trust their gut when it comes to pretty much anything in life. 

I mean our body is a natural system built to tell us when something is right or wrong for us. 

However, if you are anything like me and you have Trauma - that doesn't always work out for us.

Our Trauma can have us so far removed from that natural state that fear and experience do the talking.

 

Seriously though, think about it! 

 

When I first started posting, I was so afraid of being seen, how I would be perceived etc. 

My gut was telling me not to post because it wasn't safe, but I knew deep down that came from fear. 

It came from my body telling me "hey, it hasn't always been safe to be seen in the past".

Could you imagine if I actually listened to my gut in this instance though?

I wouldn't have my website, you wouldn't be reading this blog, I wouldn't have started my own business!

 

Now I'm not saying you should never trust your gut. That's crazy talk.

Because sure, it can absolutely protect us at times. It can also keep us away from good too though.

It's important that we acknowledge and thank that part of ourselves that is just trying to keep us safe. 

It's also important that we get curious, make space to understand it and 

are able to discern what is truly our gut vs Trauma/fear.

 

I don't know about you, but I am so grateful I am here and posting. 

I hope that this encourages you to get curious as much as it does for me!
